I graduated in 2007 With a Honours Degree in Fine Art from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, Scotland.
My focus at uni was on painting (www.nicklaw-paintings.com) although I continued to work with photography during this time. Following uni I had exhibitions of my paintings and photography together while working with some art galleries, including the Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery of the Maldives, where i now have photos and paintings in their permanent collections.
Recently I have been focused mainly on the surf photography side of things. This has allowed me to work, travel and do what I love.
I design and build all my own camera water housing equipment, this adds a whole other dimension to the activity of shooting in the sea.
I continue to paint when at home in Scotland.
I am currently in Indonesia working on various projects which involve boats, travel and exploration.
